Phil Soules - Assistant Chief
Kinney Hose - Engine 341 Phil Soules joined the Butler Fire Department in 1976. He currently has 42 Years of Active Service for our Department. Phil is currently the Assistant Chief (B3) and spent the previous 2 year team as Chief of Department. Phil joined as soon as he turned 18 and has spent his entire tenure to date working alongside his father, Jimmy Soules. The combination is also the first Father-Son duo to become Department Chiefs in the history of Butler Fire. Phil was born and raised in Butler and has been a life-long resident. He grew up around the firehouse, but outside of the firehouse, Phil has worked for Hubbell Power Systems for 40 years as a Logistics Manager. a member of the Butler Fire Department, and he would like to thank all of the members for their support during his term as Department Chief.
Phil joined the Fire Department as soon as he could, and says that he still enjoys serving and giving back to the Community of Butler. He feels lucky to have worked with such a great group of firefighters over the years.
Phil would also like to extend a special thanks to Nancy, his partner for the past 39 years, for her patience and support through the years while he has spent time on Emergency Calls, at meetings and drills and doing various other activities for the Butler Fire Department.
Our membership is truly lucky to have a leader such as Chief Soules to look after. He has helped to shape us into a Department that we are all proud to be members of an has been an asset to our continued growth. We thank him for his service and his leadership over the past two years!
