Jason Tracz – Probationary
                           Firefighter

Jason joined the Butler Fire Department in June of 2021.  He is currently in his First Year of Membership.  Jason will be starting his NJ Firefighter 1 Training Course this coming January.  At the completion of the course, he will be a Qualified Firefighter and will no longer be a Probationary Firefighter.  Probationary Members are not able to enter buildings or wear SCBA packs.  He is excited for his training to begin.

Jason was born in Summit NJ and spent his Childhood in Bloomfield.  He moved to Butler in 2016 and is a Butler High School graduate with the Class of 2019.  He is currently taking courses at CCMS in Criminal Justice.  He

hopes to one day become a Police Officer.  Currently Jason is working at Home Depot fulfilling Contractor Orders.

Although Jason does not have any family on our Department, his Father did spend time as a Firefighter in Poland prior to moving to the United States.
Jason began thinking about joining the Department during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Many of his classes moved over to Online and he found that he was in Butler more often and decided that joining the Department would give him something fulfilling to do, while giving back to the Community.

FF Tracz said that he enjoys the Town Bond that he has found in Butler.  Growing up in a more Urban environment, and moving to Butler in his Teenage years, he enjoys the open spaces and town activities.  He is excited for Borough Tree Lighting at the Park and Sit with Santa Event at the Firehouse next Friday.  It will be his first time taking part in this Event as a Member of our Department.

We are privileged to have had Jason as a member for the past year and appreciate everything he has done.  We look forward to continuing to see what he accomplishes in the future!

Until our next installment, Stay Safe!
