Dakota Sheehan - Lieutenant
Dakota joined the Butler Fire Department in February of 2018. He currently has about 4 Years of Active Service for our Department and is currently in his First Year as a Lieutenant. Dakota’s duties as the Rescue Lieutenant are mainly focused on Rescue 341 and ensuring that piece of Apparatus is always ready to Respond anytime a need arises. Lt Sheehan was born in Pequannock NJ and was raised in Butler. Dakota is a Butler High School Graduate from the Class of 2014. His current occupation is as a Mechanic at his family’s business in Butler. Dakota also graduated from the William Paterson University in 2021 with a BS in Accounting Degree and looks forward to using that in the future. |
Lt Sheehan has been with his longtime Girlfriend, Alyssa, for nearly 9 years and he appreciates the patience and understanding she has when the Pager goes off and he has to drop whatever they are doing and head to the Fire House. Dakota joined the Department along with his sister Miranda, who is the Truck Lieutenant on the Department. They have both become important assets to our Department and we are lucky to have them.
Dakota originally joined Butler Fire after speaking to Former Department Chief/Current Fire Police Chief Canty. This sparked his interest in the Fire Service. After seeing the actions taken by our members at the Bartholdi Avenue Fire several years ago, Dakota took the jump and became a part of our team.
Lt Sheehan enjoys the atmosphere of the Fire Department as well as the knowledge that on any given day, we may be called to do anything. He looks forward to expanding his abilities over the years, both as an officer and especially with the Technical aspects of various different types of Rescues.
We are privileged to have had Dakota as a member for the past 4 years and appreciate everything he has done. We look forward to continuing to see what he accomplishes in the future!
Until our next installment, Stay Safe!
