Chris Finelli - Department Chief
Bartholdi Hose - Engine 342 Chris joined the Butler Fire Department in 1991 and is currently in his 27th Year of Active Service. Chris was born and raised in Butler and is a 1991 graduate of Butler High School. As a member of our Department, he has gone through the ranks, spending the last several years as the Chief of the Bartholdi Hose Company and Assistant Department Chief. As of January 2018, Chris is now the Chief of Department for Butler Fire. He has spent the last 17 years as a member of the Borough of Butler's Planning Board and is a Deputy Coordinator for the Borough's Office of Emergency Management. Along with this, Chris has spent the last 10 years Coaching BBYC Football and has spent the last 9 years on their Board. Chris has owned his own business in town for the last |
26 years, with a focus in carpentry and building, while his partner focuses on the plumbing and heating aspect of building.
Chris has been Happily married to his wife, Suzanne, for twenty years. The pair has two sons. When asked why Chris joined, he said that he grew up having former Assistant Chief Frank McGee living in the neighborhood. After some conversation, Chris and a few childhood friends joined the Bartholdi Hose Company. A major part was also to give back to the community that he grew up in.
When asked why he continues to respond after 26 years, Chris responded that he is addicted to volunteering and helping others. He also continues to enjoy giving back to the community and educating future generations.
We thank Chris for his Dedicated Service since 1991 and look forward to working with him as Department Chief for the next few years and working together for years to come!
