Brandon Kica - Firefighter
Pequannock Engine & Hose - Engine 344 Brandon Kica is one of our newest members on the Butler Fire Department, joining in Late 2016. He is also currently the youngest members of our Department at 19 years old. Brandon was born in Westwood and spent a portion of his childhood in Pequannock. After coming from Pequannock in 2012, Brandon moved into the area and is a Butler High School graduate with the Class of 2016. In his first year with the Department, Brandon successfully completed the NJ State Mandated 180 hours Firefighter 1 Curriculum and is now a Qualified Firefighter and has helped to add to the number of members who can go inside of structures during a call. Brandon originally joined the Fire Department after speaking to several of his friends who had joined. The |
stories they told peaked his interest which resulted in Brandon stopping by several Crew Nights to see what our Department was about. He quickly decided that he wanted to become a member of the Butler Fire Department and went through our application process.

Brandon has enjoyed his first year with our Department and looks forward to gaining new skills and hopes begin to expand his skillset into Vehicle Extrication and various other courses available through local Fire Academies.
In his time away from the firehouse, Brandon enjoys spending time around cars and trucks, reading about them and working on them. He recently spent time fixing up his pickup truck and getting it back on the road.
Brandon's favorite part of being on the Butler Fire Department is the ability to help others in their time of need. Our members have found Brandon to be a quick fit for our Department and a big help on calls and around the firehouse. We look forward to working with Brandon into the future and thank him for his Dedicated Service for the past year!
Until our installment, Stay Safe!
