Bill Dunlap - Deputy Chief
Kiel Hook & Ladder - Tower 343 Bill joined the Butler Fire Department in 1973. He currently has 47 Years of Active Service for our Department and has spent many of those years in one of our Officer Ranks, from Lieutenant all the way through Deputy Chief. Bill is currently the Deputy Chief, which is second in Command of the Butler Fire Department. Chief Dunlap was born in New Jersey and has spent the majority of his life in the Butler area. Bill is currently retired after spending years working for the Pequannock Township DPW. During retirement he has enjoyed spending time with his family and keeping himself busy throughout the day. Bill comes from a family of first responders. His wife Gayle has been a member of the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad for years. Lieutenant with their organization. Bill has three sons and a daughter. One of his sons, Michael, is currently a member of the Kiel Hook & Ladder Company of our Department. Bill also has one grandson and a granddaughter who he enjoys spending time with.
Bill originally joined the Butler Fire Department because his father had been a Chief growing up and he was always drawn towards the Fire Department. He continues to serve the Borough of Butler because he truly loves doing it and also wants to pass on his knowledge to the younger members of the Butler Fire Department.
We are privileged to have had Bill as a member for 47 years and appreciate everything that he has done for our Department and the Borough!
